I would think new shingles would be more like new carpet or resurfacing a driveway than it would be like regular maintenance.
I considered doing it last year, but this credit comes at a good time so I will probably schedule it this year.
I think Dan02 does this sort of work (maybe I shold see what his schedule is like), maybe he has a better idea of this qualifies.
