She should absolutely be charged.
She had a feeling the dogs may be dangerous that day and instead of locking the dogs up she puts her son in the basement and wedges a shovel under the doorknob.
Plus she seems really indifferent to her son's death and even defends the dogs somewhat.
Would it really have been that hard to take her son with her while she ran errands? I don't think so.
At the least she deserves a charge of child endangerment but I think she should be charged with criminal negligence and reckless endangerment as well.
