When I first saw this post I thought I had caused it. I had left home and where the car was parked it was in the shade and the ice on the roof was solid and I couldn't get it off. We took a quick drive into town and ran in the mall for a minute and then started making our way back home. I guess from being out in the sun for an hour though started to melt things and when we pulled onto the 103 it started flying off. Luckily cars were far enough behind me and slowed down when they saw it coming off.

Also, I saw a car on Hammonds Plains Rd with the windshield smashed like that too and we couldn't figure out what had happened. But I guess I know now.

I'm glad nobody in your car was hurt! It's that time of the year now that there is enough heat in the sun to cause things to start melting. So I will be taking extra care now to ensure my roof is clear.
