I had a friend who worked at Wal-Mart. She told me that they did something similar. For example, you weren't supposed to be in the drinking establishment with more than 10 other Wal-Mart employees. She also said that when she was interviewed, they asked her questions about sexual practices and drug use.

I guess that is sort of monitoring an employees private life.
