While that is a very irresposible and uncool thing to say, I don't think he meant MURDER the girl. It was a broken home I'm sure he just meant, let the father have full custody. From the sounds of the story it sounded like the father already had greater custody and the mother and daughter weren't getting along very well.

The way things turned out, that may have actually been the smartest suggestion, even if it came from a selfish place.
