What a pain. Year after year.
They just went and changed the semester for a required 500-level seminar. Way to mess up my carefully planned schedule. I would have thought the department might fire off an email to its students, considering the importance of the course.
The key to avoiding the waiting list: sign on to InfoNet well in advance of your registration appointment time. You're still able to log on... the only thing your prevented from doing is registering. Now, if you've got the time to sit around and fiddle with Infonet, to avoid the session timing-out... you're already in by the time it's time to register

Works like a charm
I unfortunately, did a dumb thing and let my session time out while I was registering. I was put on the waiting list, and had about an hour wait. Being overseas, it was 1am, I didn't want to stay up longer, and I was worried the course might fill up. I ended up getting my sister on MSN and talking her through the steps for the phone registration system. Got it done before I would have been allowed back on InfoNet, and got a good night's sleep to boot.
Ahhhh... that was some much-needed venting. But ooops, I promised myself I wouldn't complain. After experiencing the school system over here, I've decided I much prefer how it's done back home! (Hard to believe... but it's true) lol
