My original post came off way to bitchy.. apologies.
In any event, wether he has an actual complaint under PIPEDA or not, I still say it is the company's asset and they should be allowed to know where that asset is and what it is being used for at all times. If his work doesn't require him to have his cell phone on after hours, he can turn it off and leave it at home. I understand he said it is for the convenience of his customers, but again if his work doesn't actually require it, I wouldn't be doing it if I was concerned about "Big Brother" tracking my movements.
