The domain is kinda old school in my experience. Everything SEO becomes less important once everyone does it. Most think off page factors (not on your site) are more important than on page these days.
Lots of good advice in the thread, but I'd suggest you optimize for maps first - it's less crowded and will help the organic anyway - and consider a PPC campaign. You can use that to get a sense of the inventory and competativeness, as well as conversions etc. Make sure you add analytics.
Should add too - Google gives social huge weight right now.
