I Doubt I would ever see or recommend Doubt to anyone. The acting was solid, but not Oscar worthy IMO. The writing was sanctimonious and rather lame (saw the ending coming a mile away).
In Doubt, Viola Davis had such a small role (smaller than Michael Shannon above) that I don't see how it can even be considered. I mean, and Oscar nom for 5 mins screen time?

Judi Dench won an Oscar for 8 minutes as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love, so I guess there is a precedent for it.
