I read the point of the article to be that the Canadian media is unfair to Stephen Harper, not that Harper is less conservative than Obama. While I think it's true that Obama is far less liberal than either the right or the left thinks he is in the U.S., calling him a "neo-con" is a little goofy, frankly--and some of the analogies in the piece are... well... let's be kind and say the author likes to compare oranges and battleships.

But in the end, it's the same "poor me" attitude you get from the right in the U.S. The media's not fair, everybody hates us, let's go eat worms. I'm not feeling overwhelmed with sympathy, frankly.
