This is a good point.

Take off and do your thing. Travel. Be enthused . But whenever you are ready to start working - and who knows, for all you know you could find a job anywhere in the world during your travels - apply to the gov't. Your French will be quite useful then. You don't need to get more schooling; they will do any training they want you to do or have...and there are jobs that your degree would be directly applicable to (e.g. translation services).
