I'll jump on the bandwagon here as well as say I didn't get it either. I borrowed both 1 & 2 from a friend who said they were the greatest games he'd ever played... hmmmm.... I guess.....

Give me Project Gotham Racing or Baulder's Gate or GTA or Splinter Cell or Fable or NHL 2005 or anything else first.

I actually find there's very few 'first person' games I can get into. I always feel like I have tunnel vision or something. Third person gives me a way better perception of my surroundings. Even though I love the concept, I've found Marrowind hard to play for this reason as well.
