I don't know if people are just closed-minded or what, but Fall Out Boy is actually a very good band. If you can get past the genre stereotypes, and just listen to the actual music they play... it's really quite good. I was actually pretty surprised, myself.
I stay away from Simple Plan and Sum41 and Blink 182 etc, because they actually do sound like crap, but Fall Out Boy has something going. It's kinda bluesy, but heavy... with some funk and a sense of humour, etc.
I guess the trick is to just open your mind up a little bit and hear the music instead of the stereotype (which they don't even fit into anyway).
