For the 2000-2002 category I'm going a little off kilter and picking Light Green Leaves by Little Wings.

Can't find an album cover to link to.

This was a follow up to his "Wonder Trilogy". I am not a huge fan of this alt-country, anti folk genre or whatever you want to call it genre, but I am a huge fan of Kyle Field's unique voice. For fans of The Microphones, Will Oldham, Devendra Banhart, or anything on K records.
