It debuted last night and I forgot!
Sounds pretty cool though. Old bands (primarily from the 80s) compete for a chance for one more huge gig.
Last night featured Loverboy, Arrested Development, Tiffany, C.C. Penniston and Flock of Seagulls. Each band plays two songs - one old song of their own, and a cover of a current hit.
Upcoming eppys feature bands like Wang Chung, Haddaway, Vanilla Ice, Tommy Tutone, The Knack, etc.
Pretty cool concept I think...but as mentioned I missed it. Did anyone catch it? How was it?

Judging from the age of many CPers from the High School thread, I don't expect many of these young'uns to remember any of these 80's artists....
I saw a lot of ads for this show and am ashamed to admit it caught my eye - c'mon it's Vanilla Ice! The concept seemed cool - bring back a bunch of has beens from the 80's and see if they still had their chops in the here and now.
The bad part of that: it involves has beens from the 80's

Observation #1: thou shall gain 30 pounds when you fall out of the public limelight. Observation #2: Baldness is directly proportionate to the amount of hairspray you used in the 80s. Flock of Seagulls was sick to look at.
To sum it up, it was like watching bad karaoke - it interests you more in watching how bad they can be versus how good they are.
I though CC Penniston still sang great though, although Arrested Development wasn't bad. Not sure I'll go out of my way to watch it again - although when Vanilla Ice shows up I'll watch for curiosity's sake!
