Right around when I turned 18 I was in a car stereo shop. Fast talking sales guy had me set up with a new amp and speakers, and all of it was going to be financed. "Don't worry- you'll be approved. No problem!" he said.
The application was going to take a couple of days, so just so I could take the gear home, he took an imprint of my Visa card. He said it was just for security, and don't worry you'll be approved. And if not, you can bring everything back!
So, I was not approved. Went to take the stuff back, and the manager wouldn't take it back seeing as it was all out of the packaging. (Why would I want to take it home if I couldn't try it out?)
What makes this the worst, not only did I get suckered into spending about $800 on maybe $400 worth of gear, the charge was going through on my dad's credit card; the one that he gave me a copy of to use "if there is an extreme emergency."
