^Thigpin can run and he is tough as nails too (anything looks tough after Brodie Croyle, not that Brodie wasn't tough, he just wasn't durable). Cassell was a bench warmer in college and he would have been a bench warmer in the NFL if it wasn't for Brady's injury. I stated before, it is a lot easier to take the reins of a 16-0 championship caliber team than it is to take the reins of a 2-14 team. Especially if you have to learn a new system with different skill players than you are used to.
I thought I read somewhere that if New England slapped the Franchise Tag on Cassell. They would have to pay him $14 million for next season. That sounds outrageous for a backup QB. If I was Matt Cassell, I would send a nice fruit basket or something over to Bernard Pollard's house.
