Meh, I don't get the big deal. I don't love commercials, and I certainly don't turn up the volume when they come on, I just see them as the price I pay for watching the show (in addition to the price of cable, unfortunately).
You can flip around a lot during commercials, but I'm not sure how that's better... and you might miss your show when it comes back on.

Or worse completely forget what you were watching and miss the whole thing and then flip back for the credits and then you must curse yourself and not the Canadian Tire star.
