had a Ford (Mercury) Topaz. Total lemon. Wife had a Chevy Malibu. Another pile of garbage. Drove my Toyota Camry forever, never had an issue. I've had a Nissan X Trail for the last 3 years, again, no problems. It will be some time before I go with anything from the Big 3.
