You should really change a portion of this thread title of to 'medically obese'.
This is only required for those that are classified as medically obese (much like in Dion's post earlier). This does not mean that you can just be overweight from eating Wendy's everyday and go ask your Dr. for a note so that you can get a free seat (2nd seat that is).
This is also just the airlines following through with what's handed down to them from Transport Canada. The airlines aren't the ones asking for the note, rather than enforcing that one exists.
All that said, the tag for this thread still makes me laugh.
