It's a sad reality in the weather biz. Forecasting offices are being conglomerated into larger ones to cut costs (ie the prairie storm center is now in Winnipeg with the Edmonton office downsized). The only benefit of local forecasters (if you call them that) is that they have a greater understanding how the local land plays a role in the weather (ie chinooks). However, it's only a positive if stations manage to keep them for long term.
In this case though, I believe Global still has their own... perhaps Michele was just doing filler for someones abscense. Or she's now at Calgary global... can never tell, they move around too much haha.
