So the airline have made a doctors note mandatory to get the extra seat, so now doctors are pissed off because it is a waste of our already scarce medical resourses.

What a bunch of bull crap. Maybe I can get my doctor to give me a note saying I'm obese just so I don't have to have anyone sit next to me.

This is a joke. Our medical system is stretched to the limits already and now the airlines are adding more weight (no pun intended) to the system over a business decision. What a joke.
