A station in KC is reporting that Pioli has been offered the Chiefs job and they're trying to negotiate compensation, control and the like. I guess we'll see how this plays out. From what I've been able to find out about Clark Hunt his closest associate in the NFL is one of Kraft's son's so I can see why he would look at someone from New England, especially a guy with Pioli's track record. I guess he's the sexy choice that fans and media seem to want.

I think its a good sign for the Chiefs that Pioli has not signed with the Browns. If I was looking for a GM job, KC would be at the top of my list (hey, I know I'm biased). Ownership lets you run things without meddling. I think in the 49 year history of the Dallas Texans / Kansas City Chiefs they have had only 4 GM's. Not sure who the GM was initially, Hank Stram, Jack Steadman, Carl Peterson. That should give any potential GM some comfort that ownership will be patient.
