So it doesn't sound like a driver issue.
When you say, "including the windows load up screen", I'm wondering about even before that. When a computer initially turns on it usually starts the screen in a super basic text mode before it tries to start loading the OS (although some boot routines do it "silently"; without showing you anything). If your screen is screwed up even at the very first, basic point, then it is probably a hardware issue.
