You guys are blaming D-Link for your inability to configure a router properly.
D-Link lets you reserve static IPs for specific computers.
D-Link lets you use MAC address filtering to add your iPod Touch or any other network device. Just as Linksys does, but since it's a different brand, the instructions will be a bit different in the web-based configuration page.
But I will agree with you that Linksys is a more robust product.
