Why should it be? It used to be strictly government domain, they opened it up to private retailers. Why not open it to all retailer who apply for a the licensing? It's available at corner stores in other provinces.

I take it you then support making it harder for every bad habit.
I think people who drink a dozen pop a day (especially children) are putting their health at risk, should they have there own stores?
I don't care for seeing porn magazines at the grocery store, the pharmacy or the corner store, should they have their own stores?

That is just bull. Anyone who has an addiction will find a source.
This is not about curbing bad habits or improving public health; it's about restricting the business operations of retailers.
Just a year ago they forced all these same retailers to "hide" the product. They went to great costs to accomplish this and now it was all for not because some bureaucratic pinheads who feel they have to control everything in our society.
What happened to personal responsibility?
