That's not true. They often come into towns looking for ANY kind of food. If they are hungry they will take what they can get but most times they get scared off by humans and dogs.
My information is first hand as I scared one off earlier this year. If it wanted to eat me it could have but instead it turned around and bolted.
We had one come into town a few weeks ago and all it wanted was the dog food. It didn't eat the dog right next to it, just wanted that food. There is a very good reason why most huskies stay outside in the North. They are great warning dogs for polar bears and can usually scare them away.
