I just bought a remote starter a couple of weeks ago, but it won;'t be installed until tomorrow. the reason for the extra prices, was they have to install a bypass switch. If your car is fairly new, it won't start unless the physical key is close to the ignition, as there is a chip in it, that connects to the receiver in the ignition. So, I think it was $65 for that. Other extras were, extra keys and connect your automatic door unlocks.
All in all a $268 remote ended up $500.
got mine at Visions and the guy there said, Viper were not very good anymore.
