I've always thought optometrists, like veternarians kind of have a conflict of interest, what with offering a medical service, and supply of medical materials (at extra cost of course).
The illegality of online contacts is complete baloney. Just like other medical supplies (Rx, prostetics, wheelchairs, etc.) they can be purchased from wherever you choose.
Just remember, the guy checking your eyes makes far more profit from frame and lens sales than annual checkups.
