Since you don't have HDMI inputs on your receiver, I'd just run an optical [toslink ] from your blu ray and your satellite STB. If you don't have enough optical inputs, buy an optical toslink switch and cables from Monoprice. They're cheap and will give you digital sound.

Also most TVs have an optical out, which you could run back to your audio reciever but most don't give 5.1 audio unless it is from an OTA signal.

I'm not sure why you're running component cables through your audio reciever. They're only video, maybe you mean composite RCA cables which are analogue.

Looking at the back of your reciever, I see that it has 4 optical inputs. This is what I'd use.
