Ok, so I bought a blu ray player but my amp only has 2 HD component connections in the back and they are both already being used.

I was wondering if I can connect an HDMI from the blu ray to the tv , and then audio through the amp? Or when you use HDMI does it overwrite any other sound connection (if that makes sense)?

This would be an annoying setup if it worked but I don't know if I'm too excited about buying a new amp.
