The difference would be in the free solutions, or even just connecting to a friend via computer and a webcam is usually a ) you have to have an internet connection where with something like Shaw VoIP you don't b ) you don't have to have a computer and c ) you don't have to worry about the person on the other end having the correct software or hardware, or even VoIP phone; they could just have a regular phone connection and it will still work. I guess d ) they also have to have 911 service where you don't have 911 service with MSN
