The most common furance problem I have seen is the thermocouple.
last year my furnace kept igniting, the blower would start then it would shut down.
I took out the thermocouple and cleaned it off and it has worked since.
I think it is hard to even buy a thermocouple, most guys won't sell them to you b/c they want to come install them and rip you off
