I totally agree.
And as good as Ledger was as the Joker, I don't think it would be impossible to find a replacement for that character. Heath set the new bar, but there are a lot of fine actors who could immitate it, and considering how make-up intensive the character is, it could work.
As for the Riddler, I don't know why, but John Malkovich seems like someone who could pull it off.
