Samsung SyncMaster 225 BW, 22"

When you go to power on the monitor, press the power button, you see the screen only quickly then it goes to black. Press the power button again to turn it off then back on again, the longer the monitor has been off for the more times I have to repeat this to get it to stay on. I took it in where I bought it and of course they couldn't get it to do this. Typical. Anyone heard of this? Should I just write to Samsung instead?
