My wife has a LARGE diamond, that things costs me 70 bucks a month in insurance...if it is lost in any scenario, it is replaced - no matter the circumstance. I think in a few years she might decide to put it in a safety box, maybe get a fake.

I would go really low and look over every square inch of the floor. It could be stuck in the bottom of a shoe tread, but likely on the edge of the room where the wall hits the floor.
