Yes, Ledger did do a good performance, but the whole movie reminded me more of the early batman movies instead of the more true to life performance that Batman Begins was.
They should've had more character development on Batman, Alfred, include Fox a little more and not even bothered with the whole Harvey Dent thing. It was pointless.

Glad I'm not alone. Even my undying love of Christian Bale (and Gary Oldman) didn't save this one. After all the buildup I was expecting there to be at least as much meat in the story as Begins, but I found it a predicable, plodding, tedious mess.
The fact that it didn't get a lot of nominations was, frankly, refreshing. I don't think the lack of nominations (so far, it's still early) has much to do with it being based on a comic book character, and more to do with a sloppy screenplay and some weird directing choices (what's with the grumbling Batman voice? Bale's an actor, let him act!). And the sound was terrible, at least in the theatre I saw it in.
Now I want to watch Iron Man again.
