I think it puts the defense at a distinct disadvantage, which is what the league wants, of course. I'm fully aware of the Saints inability to play defense, especially in the secondary. Then again, both of their starting corners are out for the season.

It's not just a Saints thing, I think the rule is too arbitrary on one hand, and too debilitating to the defense. Pass interference is often a judgement call, and too often leads to game changing plays like we saw tonight.

I think college has it perfect, 15 yards, and an automatic first. If the official blew the call, the defense has a chance to make it up. If it was the right call, the offense is humming right along.

Just my opinion.

BTW, the Saints didn't really deserve to win that game, they were fortunate to be in it by capitalizing on some bad turnovers. Just hate to see games changed on 35+ yard penalties.
