Quite simply Harper does not have the social skills (or desire) to mend fences...something VERY imporant in any leader. Instead he has run to your friendly neighbourhood seperatist party in an attempt to power-whore his way into office. And run caucus like a dictatorship....a poorly run one.

Martin obviously doesnt have the social skills (or desire) to mend fences, as he has displayed by somehow mangaing to further alienate Alberta than Chretien ever managed. Instead, he ran to his friendly, neighborhood socialist party in an attempt to whore himself out to save his government.
Need I remind you of how Liberal caucuses are run?
Everything you say of Harper is true of Martin. Only difference is that Martin is better at it, and more able to sink lower.
And hey, I'll admit that Harper is also a huge disgusting failure. However, his failure is easily matched by Martin, who sold out his one and only redeeming quality - fiscal conservatism - to retain power.
The best possible thing for Canada might be to simply get rid of all of it's political leaders and start all over. Not a one of them - and that includes the slug leading the NDP - has shown they deserve to lead this nation.
