It's been almost 17 hours, so I'm going to pick. In the
Drama category,
Team Legen...wait for it...dary! selects
The Tudors.
The Tudors following the early years of King Henry VIII (played by
Jonathan Rhys Meyers), starting with his first marriage and divorce to Queen Catherine of Aragon and his affair and second marriage to Anne Boylen. The third season starts sometime next year and will follow the story of Henry's next two wifes, Jane Seymore and Anne of Cleves.
I enjoy this show because I am obsessed with anything relating to Tudor English history. It has wonderful sets and costumes and Henry Cavill may be the best looking man ever. It is nowhere near historically accurate but when watching a soapy tv show, I don't think it matters. The acting is also pretty good, except for Meyers who can be too over the top. Sam Neil was great in season 1 as Cardinal Wolsey and Jeremy Northam is also excellent as Sir. Thomas More. And because it's on Showtime, it has lots of g
ratuitous sex and violence.
