Its kind of a boring story...few years back I worked with a girl who relocated here from the Calgary area. She was a big Flames fan. I was a big Kings fan. I took her to games with me, she made me watch the Flames with her. We both sort of took on second favorites. I really started paying attention when Drury signed with the Flames, even though it didn't work out well. The the 04 run happened and it was so exciting to watch. Then the Kings signed Conroy, and I had watched him play in Calgary so I was pretty happy he was coming to LA, even though it ended up temporary. I've always been a big fan of Jarome Iginla and even though I was disappointed Conroy was traded from LA I was thrilled it was back to Calgary. The Kings have been a disappointment for a long time now so it was nice having a second favorite team. I didn't ever expect to be so passionate about a second favorite, but its hard to avoid with this team, the personalities of the players, the way the organization is run, etc. The past two seasons I've found myself rooting for the Flames over the Kings in their games. The line between first and second favorite has become quite the fine line. Most people don't understand it.
