I'm not sure why you re-stated that since it really had nothing to do with the bulk of my post.
1. You were complaining about supporting people on welfare. You want the money to go to something more beneficial to you and not as beneficial to these people, a lot of which have serious problems that prevent them from being as successful as you are. No, it has nothing to do with wanting more money, but it's still selfish. You want your self interest served and not the interest of these other people. You would rather the money go to something that benefits you more, and these people less. At least that's what I have to assume based on what you're said so far.
2. The price of your house and cars are irrelevant to a discussion about wanting more money anyways. I could own a piece of crap car and yet spend tons and tons of money in other areas and greedily want more and more. How much you spend on your car and your house is a matter of allocation of your current funds. Wanting more funds is a completely different thing.
