Giggle. We should have been provided safety equipment, but then again we should have been paid for every hour we worked, and probably should have had some sort of formal training on how to use the pump. Now that I think about it, they did provide goggles but some clown poured acid in them and they were fogged up. So naturally they were never used. (The clown was not me...) The eyewash bottle looked dusty and grungy enough I think I'd grab the Sprite from my lunch to wash out my eye before I used that thing.
At age 17 you really don't give two hoots about safety. It was far easier to do a crapper job than to worry about safety. Hence why every sucker that bought a battery from us got an underfilled one to varying degrees.
You youngsters here... you probably don't remember what it's like when it's actually HARD to get a job...
