Considering that this whole thing smacks of the opposition continuing with their strategy of not working with the government in place.

The NDP and Bloc were working on this since the last election and possibly before that, so they were looking to pick a fight.

The Conservatives basically caved on everything that the coalition wanted, yet the coalition refuses to back down.

The Law and Order Bill that the Liberal senators have been holding up forever.

Lets not forget that before dissolving parliment before the last election, Harper reached out and tried to contact the members of the opposition parties who couldn't be bothered to return his phone calls.
