I think he totally pulled Calgary out of the hat. It's probably because they're the first team that came to his mind regarding the CFL, because they just won the Grey Cup last week. I really doubt he's heard of Sandro DeAngelis before.

I'd be shocked if he hadn't heard of Sandro. As you pointed out, I'm sure they know about the Grey Cup and wouldn't be at all surprised if he heard about Sandro wanting to try for the NFL.

I dunno dude, I still think he doesn't know who he is. If someone doesn't follow the league, I'm sure they wouldn't know the players. Regarding the Grey Cup, I think the only thing he knew was that the team Flutie and Garcia used to play for, the Calgary Stampeders, beat the alouetta Montreal Allouettes.
All the comment was supposed to mean is that if Lindell doesn't get his butt in gear and start making some field goals, he's gonna find himself out of the league. Nothing more.
