Keep in mind Sylar has the ability to understand how things work. That was why Peter had to take his ability earlier in the series, so he can see the bigger picture. If this continues all the way to the end of the season and doesn't go anywhere, i will be a bit dissapointed. I think there will be a bigger picture revealed around Sylar as the season progresses.
