Sandro had a good year last year but it wasn't as though he was better than all the kickers in the past 20 years of the CFL and in that time there has been less than a handful of kickers that have made it in the NFL.
It isn't as though he is going to be a hot commodity to teams in the off-season (I don't even think he has a good shot of making a team) or any better than 5-6 kickers coming out of NCAA.
I think he may know the name but I can't imagine he is spending much time thinking/caring about a kicker that might make it in the NFL next season. Especially not when dealing with a 8 team league to choose a city from.
I maintain it is much, much more likely that he went with the city he just heard had won the Grey Cup.
