Geez what did Utah fans ever do to you? Ever been to a Utah game? They actually traveled really well to the Fiesta bowl in 2004. Not everyone living in Utah is a Mormon that is like saying everyone living in Alberta is an Oiler fan.

I was there, the quietest fiesta bowl in more than a decade. They did travel well, but the events around the bowl were very quiet that year, both because Utah fans didn't do much and because PITT didn't travel. I don't have anything against them, just part of the reality of what is considered when the bowl selects a team.
And saying ab is all flames and oilers fans isn't perfectly accurate, but it's very close. Same with Utes fans, it's not perfectly accurate to say they are quiet fans and don't do much around the bowl activities, but it's close enough.
