I don't see there being a huge political fail out. Everyone knew that the election was three left of centre parties (four if you count the Greens) and one right of centre party. There are more "left of centre" seats than there are "right of centre" seats. The Liberal supporters, NDP supporters and Bloc supporters will be more than happy to see that their party will help form policy rather than the right of centre party. I can tell you that we NDP supporters are very happy to see this coallition.
And I can see that the Conservative supporters are absolutely irate... so it must be the right move.
As for when the NDP talked to the Bloc... I asked in the election thread why they wouldn't form a coalition right from the get go since the Liberals, NDP and Bloc agree in goals (other than separation of Quebec) if not the means to achieve those goals. I was shot down saying that they would never do that.
