Me, when I looked a the photo, I thought Leopard's Bane. It has the same flowers, bright green leaf though, AND flowers in the spring.
Now, if it has purplish greenish leaves and flowers in the fall, yup, it would be Ligularia.
Most Rudbeckia have brown centers, too hard to tell from the black and white photo, but does not seem to be the case.
